Arnau Benet, MD, PhD, is a globally recognized cerebrovascular neurosurgeon dedicated to delivering world-class neurosurgical care in Southern California. With extensive international training, a passion for surgical excellence, and a deep commitment to his patients, he specializes in complex brain, spine, and vascular conditions.
Originally from Barcelona, Spain, Dr. Benet developed an early passion for neurosurgery through his fascination with the brain’s intricate anatomy. While earning his medical degree at the University of Barcelona, he taught neuroanatomy and conducted advanced neurosurgical research in his own cadaver laboratory. His journey led him to work closely with Dr. Michael Lawton, one of the world’s foremost neurosurgeons, serving as Director of the Skull Base and Cerebrovascular Laboratory at UCSF before training under Dr. Lawton as a resident at the prestigious Barrow Neurological Institute.
With additional advanced fellowship training in cerebrovascular and skull base surgery in Japan, Dr. Benet has honed his expertise in treating complex vascular and brain tumors. He is also a respected educator, currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at UCSF and an Adjunct Professor at Barrow Neurological Institute.
